Wedding After Party – Who to Invite?

Wedding After Party -1-Wedding-Stories

And after the big day, comes the wedding after party… This blog post only applies to a bride and groom that will have limited space and need to consider the actual capacity of the wedding after party venue or simply a limited budget.

I know, I know, when you think it doesn’t get much harder after putting the wedding guest list together. It’s time to put the wedding after party guest list together. The thing is, even though you want to include everybody, you also don’t want to have an overwhelmingly packed after party. Then again, you will also want to avoid any major name cutting drama. Let’s just say that it’s a tough call and you will want to keep the turmoil to a bare minimum.

Firstly, decide who definitely belongs on your non-negotiable list. This means the core group that you must absolutely have dancing next to you at your wedding after party. This category will most likely include the Best Man, Maid of Honour, Groomsmen, Bridesmaids and the closest relatives.

Secondly, any guest that you feel any ambivalence towards, should probably be excluded from you wedding after party list.

Now you have already made quite a cut. Lastly – and this is actually the hardest task- is to take a good moment to consider who of your wedding guests are most likely to get offended when excluded from your wedding after party, which ones will understand the circumstances and who would actually be quite happy to call it a night and skip the wedding after party celebration. This decision could be age related, work related, or annoying second cousin related.

Rule of thumb: Don’t overthink it (what you should and shouldn’t do), just trust your feelings and focus on being surrounded by your favorites. After all, that’s your time to finally let go of all the wedding stress and have some fun.
