Beach Wedding: Part II – Wedding Stories

Beach Wedding

beach wedding - Wedding Stories 5

Now that the beach wedding needs of your wedding guests have been taken into consideration, it’s time to focus on your own needs for your beach wedding.

Dress: Clearly your wedding gown needs to be light and comfortable, think fabrics such as silk and chiffon that have a nice fluid movement to them, yet still look elegant and dressy. A beach wedding gown obviously cannot be too layered and heavy. This will be extremely uncomfortable in many different ways. The groom might want to consider a –well fitted- light coloured linen suit.

Shoes: Depending on whether you have a little stage set up on the beach, you could either wear small heals or if positioned directly on the sand, you could wear elegant sandals or maybe even consider going barefoot! Highly recommended option for a beach wedding as sand can be very tricky and you might end up tripping over it on the way to the alter…not the best wedding picture but definitely a very memorable one 🙂

Hair: A loose, beach-look hairstyle may seem like the right choice to match your beach wedding style; however the slightest breeze might blow your girly locks right into your mouth or stick to your perfectly glossed lips. Therefore, instead, you are better off selecting a wedding hairstyle that keeps the front part of your hair away from your face. Consider a loose and casual yet arranged up-do for example.

Plan B: Even though it barely ever rains during the Spanish sun soaked summers, you do not want to be the unfortunate one and without a back-up plan for your beach wedding. Always consider having an indoor option available in case bad luck strikes. Either way this will give you a peace of mind.

Details that you might not think about:

  • Organize a microphone, because the waves and the wind can be very noisy!
  • Make sure to apply for the proper beach wedding permits if needed.
  • Depending on the size of your gathering, arrange proper seating.
  • Most beaches are public. If you do not want any strangers to sneak in a peek or worse, a mean or drunk nudist deciding to stand right next to your alter…you might want to consider a beach front restaurant, resort or hotel instead.
