Bride and groom vs alcohol horror
Bride and Groom vs alcohol horror!
Even though it’s totally appreciated that you have to calm your bridal nerves, it might not be the smartest thing for the bride and groom to slam back a huge quantity of alcoholic beverages. Clearly you splurged on an open bar for a reason, but you might want to cut back on the alcohol just to avoid embarrassing wedding pictures, slurry wedding speeches and wedding dress tripping. Not to mention the wedding cake cutting – oh the horror.
On this one special day, the bride and groom will also want to present their best special self to the wedding guests. Surely you wouldn’t like to set the example for your guests – if you start drinking too soon, they just might too and as funny as it sounds I don’t think you would appreciate your drunk uncle screaming “don’t do it” during the ceremony, right? A hangover on the first day as a married couple doesn’t seem very appealing to the bride and groom either, now does it?
Don’t get me wrong, a nice state of tipsiness is absolutely fine for the bride and groom. After all you should enjoy your wedding day, right? But to reach this perfect point of slightly less awareness and great bubbles of happiness is easier said than done. A good thing to remember is to eat. Really, in between all the dancing and entertaining your wedding guests just grab a little bite every now and then. Also, definitely start the day with a light breakfast. It’s not good to walk down the aisle on an empty stomach. Same for the bride and groom. The brides are not the only ones that get nervous that day (more on that in my next post).
Another trick is not to mix too many different kinds of alcohol. Whether it’s wine or champagne or a spirit, take your pick and stick to it. And apparently clear liquids are easier for your body to digest – not to mention the obvious perk when wearing a white wedding dress.
Last but not least, try to have a good old glass of still water after every alcoholic beverage. Proper hydration will avoid a killer migraine on your first day as a married couple.
Note to self: Do NOT have shots! I repeat. Do NOT!
